Kadenwood Zen

Extraordinary residence in exclusive mountain enclave inspired by Japanese-styled gardens

Tucked into the side of Whistler Mountain, with imposing a-frames highlighting different rooms of the residence and extensive windows highlighting the valley below, the client requested a Japanese-inspired setting in which to enjoy his winter skiing.

Combining a shared aesthetic for Golden Ratio and Sacred Geometry, the poem card stone walkways connect individual guest room patios, each with their own fire pits and lounge seating.

Inspired by alpine meadows filled with stunted conifers and pockets of arching grasses, the southwest-facing ski out slope was planted in a geometric pattern with Blue Oat Grasses with a selection of spreading junipers, globe cedars and wind-swept pines.
