You creative casual, you!

Not one to really care what your landscape design style is called because you like a little bit of everything, this is for sure: you have a wonderful way of combining textiles, patterns and designs into a woven tapestry of awesomeness!
You've been to so many countries that your home looks like a display table at Anthropologie. Vignettes of earthy-toned elements wrap your space in a welcoming embrace of warmth and relaxation.
Your home is filled with global patterns and tribal accents; cherished treasures that you squeezed into your luggage to bring home with you after every trip abroad, each item with an amazing story to tell.
Focus on layering textures and mixing patterns while sticking to earthy, natural tones. Incorporate globally inspired decor like woven textiles, vintage furniture, and greenery to create an effortlessly relaxed and cohesive look.
You like low, long, comfortable - and maybe even slightly distressed - furniture with white, beige and neutral-coloured upholstery.

THE VIBE
Start by laying out where you want your hardscape (the patios, decks, trellises, paths, walkways, etc) to be in your landscape design.
Make sure to consider all the seating spots that
you'd like in your yard first, such as:
1. a flat, large space near the house for outdoor dining on that massive Bali table you-just-had-to-ship-back and has been reluctantly stored at your folks' since then,
2. somewhere further away to spread out thick rugs and pillows on a scorching-hot day, so you can lay on the cool ground, under the dappled light of the tree you watched grow, and
3. a cozy nook to curl up with a book - or a good friend - and a cup of tea or latte.

FEATURES
Materials: Use natural materials whenever possible, including light-toned wood to bring a relaxed warmth to sofas and tables.
Planting: No recognizable shapes or patterns, no straight lines. Amorphous, naturalistic groupings. More species diversity. Maximize planting beds for controlled, seasonal impact using high-density, intentional colour for drama. Allow plants to spill onto each other and over pathway edges.
Elements: Humble materials with often rougher textures;
think - corten steel, gravel, decomposed granite, weathered wood.
Containers: Used freely and experimentally, mixing pottery colors and finishes to create eclectic, memorable vignettes throughout the landscape.

SUMMARY
Get yourself a few outdoor hammocks and hanging egg chairs, add a variety of textured dhurrie poufs, throw some twinkly lights across whatever tree you have, and before you know it, you'll have everyone who comes to visit want to stay.
Saying that, be careful - you-just-being-you will create such an ultra cozy vibe that guests will want to linger!
A free-spirited aesthetic that mixes different cultures and artistic expressions into an eclectic style with an emphasis on organic elements and nature.
When putting together your bohemian cottage landscape design, mixing patterns, metals, woods, materials, animal hides and trinkets from your travels is highly encouraged.
